Jennifer Brown

In the movie "Away from Her," Julie Christie moves into an assisted living facility, and the room she moves into was, to my eyes, painted a fairly strong purple. It looked great -- warm and cozy -- but I was very surprised. I really don't think I've seen that kind of bold choice in an institutional setting!(If only life could be like the movies, eh?)

Color of the Week

  • La La Love 1003-3C

Valentine's Day is this week, so to put our hearts in the mood, we are naming La La Love as the Valspar Color of the Week. This mid-depth rosy-violet has a glowing quality, which would make a dramatic accent wall. Try pairing it with a warm gray like London Coach or Modest Silver and trim with Paramount White.

    Paint with this color

The appearance of Valspar's iconic paint chip design is a trademark of Valspar.
