Dear Color Buzz,
I am considering buying this home and don't normally like blond brick, although this house has some contrast in it. The picture is not the best, but I would like an elegant look and would like your ideas on exterior paint color combinations.
Thank you,
Tom C., Littleton, CO

This is the time of the year for “tag” sales! Neighbors are getting rid of unwanted clutter and with a little paint and imagination, it is amazing how easy and affordable it is to transform someone’s “junk” into somebody else's “treasure”! With a fresh coat of paint and gentle colors, this outgrown little boy’s chest of drawers will look great in a guest room!

Hello,
I
wanted to get some ideas of what colors would work best for a Home Theater room? Some people say it should be as dark as possibly, almost, black, but I don't want the room to feel like a dungeon. Maybe a red or a neutral color might work. What are some colors you might suggest.
Thanks!

Hi Beehive!
We just bought our first home and it is painted brown. We want it to
remain light brown or sand in the main rooms (Florida open floor plan)
and paint the dining room a cool, lighter blue. My dilemma is that I have no idea what a
good choice is without going too dark or too light. Do you have any ideas on a sand/brown warm for the entry way and family room/kitchen and a
blue that will complement the dining room? I'd be grateful for any
suggestions.
Best wishes,
Liz P., Valrico, FL

Dear Beehive,
Can you suggest paint trim and paint for a red brick home with black/gray roof? I was thinking of black trim with a beige for the outer walls. What are your thoughts or suggestions to make our home look great?
Thank you,
Paula A., Burleson, TX

Some houses will do anything to stand out – but on the beautiful island of Hilton Head, it is just the opposite. Homes seem to disappear in their surroundings, discreetly tucked in among grand old trees, sprawling bushes and vines. Like giant chameleons, houses blend with Spanish moss and appear only as reflections in ponds.

Hi Beehive!
I love your tips! We are getting close to moving into our new home, a
bank owned home, and it will need LOTS of paint! One of our first
projects will be to paint outside, as the paint now is very faded and
rough. My husband and I are having a hard time choosing the right color
scheme. We both are fans of a mid-tone body color and a lighter/white
trim color and some sort of red, maybe La Fonda Antique Red for
accent/door. But which body color? We waffle between a yellow/tan or a
gray/green. Either way I want our house to look warm and welcoming even
in the dreary rainy season here in Oregon. Our house faces southeast so it
gets plenty of light. Also, we are on a corner, so we will have newer cedar
fencing as a big part of our color scheme.
Thank you for your help,
Ashley C., Tigard, OR
