Color Buzz is One-Year-Old!

What a year this has been! 2008 proved to be a difficult year with the economic crisis and war in the  Middle East. Today, we have a new President and his agenda is one of change, in hopes of turning the tide. The good news is that America has an unsurpassed ability to reinvent itself, as demonstrated in its short history.

On this blog, we talk color. In time of crisis, this topic might seem shallow or unimportant, but the human need for aesthetics is always present, whether or not the country is thriving. As a matter of fact, color is a useful and inexpensive way to still maintain a sense of beauty and serenity when the going gets tough. For example, Revlon was created during the Great Depression. By introducing lipstick during World War II, the company was able to provide color to women who, at the time, were unable to afford clothes. This addition of a touch of color may have only made a small difference, but it goes to show that color is valued, especially in hard times.  

After one year of blogging, I still feel like I have plenty to share about color. To me, the ability we have to discern so many hues is a fascinating subject, especially when you consider the emotional and cultural aspects of colors. Happy Birthday Color Buzz! It has been a joy to be a part of the Color Buzz blog. I really delight in sharing techniques and wisdom about the world of color, and it has been a great year to do so!  I feel that more individuals are embracing the beauty and intrigue of the colors in our daily lives, be it fashion or home décor, and we have had quite a year. You certainly don't have to be an artist to appreciate the sensational impact of color in our lives. It plays a role in our memories and moods and creates distinction in each space. Color really has a splendid power!

It has also been a pleasure to share the historical and quality Valspar brand with our readers, and I look forward to some really exciting projects in the upcoming year!

Happy Birthday Color Buzz!!! 

It's been quite a year! Thanks to everyone for turning to Color Buzz for answers to color questions and perhaps for a bit of inspiration as well.  We love exploring color and sharing what we discover with you.  It's a great way of looking at everything going on in the world, taking what matters to you and creating a reflective space in your home. 

Creating a world through color has become more important in the past year with all the changes.  Color can make a huge, positive impact on the way we feel and the way we live our lives. That’s why we Beehive girls are here to help!

It's been great answering your color questions, reaching out to other blogs, and focusing in on most people’s primary design dilemma: color angst. Please keep sending your design and color questions, and share your comments on the blog.  We love hearing from you.

Color Buzz’s 1st Blogiversary!

This last year, I discovered a new passion . . . blogging!
 
As an art teacher, painter and member of Beehive Studios, I have been writing, talking and dealing with color for a long time. Thanks to Valspar, I now have a wonderful venue to reach out to a "captive" and hopefully captivated audience and share my experiences, enthusiasm, ideas, musings and opinions on color, inspiration and anything else that I find interesting. 

I have enjoyed helping readers handle design dilemmas and color angst. It is always satisfying when I can share my expertise on a subject that I love and have that information benefit someone else.

Blogging has also led me to discover other interesting sites written by fellow designers who share a similar passion for color. This exploration of others’ perspectives, design projects and colors suggestions has really widened my horizons.

Thank you all for being a part of this great experience and please share your thoughts and comments on this and any other post! We look forward to continuing our color conversations and we hope to hear from you soon!
