One thing I have always loved is the “classic” American mailbox, with its happy raised little flag. I love the fact that it can easely be decorated. It actually calls for it--to reflect a household personality. Decorating your mailbox will also make your house easier to find for new guests, as you will be known as "the house with the polka dot mailbox!" Here are a few examples of ways you can embellish yours. I actually planned on doing a third, but it started raining! I hope this project gets you inspired. Recycling has become a way of life for many of us, and here, to celebrate earth day, is a project that not only uses a recycled can of paint but also promotes “composting” an earth enriching chemical free method. Having a mini compost bin right there on the kitchen counter makes the task easier. Just empty the bin when full in a bigger composting arrangement that can be keped outside.
